Radon level testing

Radon is a radioactive gas that naturally emanates from the ground.

Radon measurement at home – when it is important to check what you can neither see nor smell
There are problems that a person can see – mold, a damp spot, a cracked wall. However, there are also those that cannot be seen with the eyes or smelled. One of them is radon. This is why radon measurement is an extremely important service for those who care about long-term safety at home.

We perform radon level measurements in premises. This service is especially relevant for owners of individual houses, residents of first-floor apartments, people living in premises connected to a basement or semi-basement, as well as home buyers who want to thoroughly assess the risks before making a decision.

What is radon in general?
Radon is a radioactive gas that naturally emanates from the ground. It has no smell, color or taste, so a person has no way of feeling whether there is a lot of it in the premises. Radon usually enters a building through foundation leaks, floor cracks, various structural openings or places where there is insufficient tightness.
Often, people do not think about radon at all, because it is not a topic that is heard every day. However, this is precisely why this question is important: if there is a problem, it is simply impossible to determine it without measurement.

Why is a radon test needed?

This service is important because it allows you to check the real situation, not to guess. Even a good-looking, dry, warm and tidy home can have an increased radon level, especially if the geological and structural conditions are favorable.

A radon test helps:
• assess whether there is an increased long-term risk in the home;
• check the safety of the ground floor, basement or individual house;
• make a more informed decision before buying a home;
• understand whether additional ventilation or sealing solutions are needed.

How does the process work?
Upon arrival, the specifics of the housing are discussed: which floor it is on, whether there is a basement, what type of foundation, whether the premises are often ventilated, whether there have been any suspicions about air quality or other microclimate problems. Then the device is used to monitor the radon level.

Since the amount of radon can fluctuate depending on ventilation, time of year, pressure and other factors, it is important to evaluate the indicators responsibly and explain to the client what they mean in practice. For an ordinary person, the most important thing is not the number itself, but a clear answer: is the situation good, is it worth monitoring, or should measures be taken.
