Assessment of the condition of furniture, countertops and surfaces

During the inspection, we help determine whether the surface has signs of wear, uneven gloss, discoloration, micro-scratches, coating damage, UV reactions, or other defects.

Surfaces often look neat at first glance, but their actual condition can be completely different. Especially when we are talking about furniture facades, countertops, painted, laminated, varnished or stone surfaces.

This service involves a more detailed surface assessment, which helps to determine:
- whether the surface is unevenly worn
- whether the gloss varies in different areas
- whether there are color discrepancies, stains or fading
- whether micro-scratches, cleaning damage, coating defects are visible
- whether the surface has traces that appear under UV light
- whether the texture and condition of the surface correspond to what it should be according to its type
We assess not only what is “visible”, but also what can be substantiated by measurements and a zoomed-in view. This is especially important when there is a dispute about quality, warranty, origin of damage or the true condition of the surface.

What do we check?
The following can be assessed during the inspection:

Color uniformity
It is determined whether the surface is uniform, whether there are color deviations, stains, changes or traces of repairs in different areas.

Gloss level
The gloss of the surface in different areas is compared. This allows you to see wear, uneven cleaning, differences in polishing or damage to the coating.

Surface microdefects
Using magnification, small scratches, microcracks, coating damage, pores, irregularities, dirt accumulations or traces of processing are identified.

UV reactions
Certain contaminants, cleaning agent residues, repairs or surface differences are better visible in special lighting. This allows you to detect what goes unnoticed in normal light.

Overall visual integrity of the surface
It is assessed whether the surface looks high-quality and uniform under real-world conditions of use, whether there are visible differences between individual areas, edges, joints or repaired areas.

Who is this service for?
This service is suitable when it is necessary to assess:
- kitchen countertops
- bathroom furniture surfaces
- MDF, LMDP, laminated or painted furniture facades
- stone, stone mass or artificial stone surfaces
- varnished, matte or glossy surfaces
- newly installed furniture before acceptance
- used furniture or surfaces before purchase
- warranty or disputed quality cases

When is it worth ordering?
The service is especially useful when:
- the surface looks "as good as new", but there are doubts
- you want to record defects before handing over or accepting the object
- you need a basis for a conversation with the manufacturer, installer or seller
- you want to compare the condition of different surface areas
- you suspect that local repair or masking has been performed
- you see stains, fading, uneven gloss or minor damage
- you need a more objective assessment than just "looking at it with your eyes"

What do you get?
After the inspection, you receive:
- a clear assessment of the surface condition
- identification of problem areas
- photo-based fixation
- an explanation of what specific signs may mean
- a recommendation as to whether the problem is cosmetic or worth further resolution
- if necessary, structured material for a claim, adjustment or internal resolution

Result
The result is not a guess, but a clearer understanding of what is actually happening with the surface: is it normal wear and tear, a cosmetic defect, a consequence of improper maintenance, or a quality issue that is worth raising further.
